For the first year of operation, CommunityNet will offer the following :
- A website and mailing list
- An interactive resource database, based on a Wiki, containing relevant and useful data, links to other websites, best practice documents and information sheets and articles. I hope that you’ll feel able to add your experience and knowledge to this resource.
- A ‘Dating Service’ joining together people wishing to offer help and resources to those who need them.
- An online discussion Forum.
- Assistance with building online presences, taking the form of free hosting of web sites, easy to use online tools such as discussion forums, survey tools and consultancy, via the CommunityHost project.
- Assistance with building blogs, via CommunityBlog
These tools will be made available over the next couple of months - please sign up to be kept in touch with what’s happening.
The plan is to expand the concept away from a website to include ‘real world’ offices, seminars, courses and networking opportunities if there is enough interest. Given that CommunityNet is currently self-funded, I hope folks will be patient here!
